For streaming Spotify to the Källa we used my iPad Mini 6. I think Fredrik might have also used his iPhone for a few tracks. We also tried the SIM card from Fredrik's phone in the LAX20 but ran into the same bandwidth problems. Another reason I think it was likely all the cell traffic in the area.

are there any plans for Lejonklou to attend any of the smaller shows in Europe this year or beginning of next year?
Or do you have plans for launch events at dealers for Tundra Mono 3 and Superkikkin?
It would be great to meet you and hopefully also Thomas and Marco in person.

coming back from the High End this weekend in Munich where one of the remarkable events was to meet Matthias from this forum.

I heard the new Linn 360 loudspeakers as Exact version with integrated Organic DAC‘s which sell in Germany for 104.130Euro (I am pretty sure Linn would go bankrupt if they would have put the listprice to an „even“ number like 103.999Euro which would also psychologically sell better … you get it for just 103.999Euro).

What shall I say - for this price I would expect more. Assuming the price would be 60.000Euro I still would expect more … even if it would be only 30.000. But with all fairness its an active system so you safe a lot as you have a nice digital volume control somewhere and you need no power amps.
I am sorry for coming over like that but I was simply hoping for more.

There is a new loudspeaker from JBL the 4329p which surely has 708p genetics. JBL was not shy demonstrating it with „unconventional“ music which also gets complex and not the typical high end Leonard Cohen songs you hear at every 3rd booth (Linn was one of them). I dont think one voice (which is rather speaking than singing) and one or two instruments are asking for much from a loudspeaker and the rest of the electronic. JBL was happy to present it with songs you asked for. I hope Matthias also had a chance to hear it as I really enjoyed them. The compression driver is the same as the 708p has but only a 50W amp for the HT and a different 8inch paper woofer driven with 250W so 300W per channel. They also have a bigger body than the 708p.
I had really fun hearing music through them and can now imagine what the 708p might sound.

Otherwise not much to say - the big names have been a disappointment - the interesting rooms came from smaller and most of the time more affordable companies. Maybe Matthias can add his impressions - especially about the big planar speakers at the 2nd level from a company I never came across before.

Yes, it was so nice to meet Defender in person and much fun to talk about some aspects of our hobby.

Defender mentioned the Linn demo with the new 360s. The system was not bad at all and they played "real" music not some audiophile tracks but I got the impression that there was a certain box in between the set-up which worked as a "polite filter". Live music didn't sound live. Dynamics and slam seem to be compressed, the music did not grip.
This was the case not only with the Linn set-up but unfortunately with most other set-ups on the show as well.

But there were exceptions. A Korean manufacturer of electronics brought like every year legacy Western Electric horn loudspeakers from the roaring twenties of the last century, now 97 years old. They gave back what was missing with some other set-ups. Real fun to listen to.

Defender and I agreed, that we both missed Lejonklou in Munich. Maybe next year?
BTW, High End Munich has more than double the amount of visitors as AXPONA.

Hello Marco,

we are already registered and it is confirmed. Could anything be shared about the proposed setup at this time? Does it make sense to take vinyl?

Hello everyone!

I am terribly sorry to report that I won't make it to Brussels. ☹️ I have a fever, sore throat and swollen ears.

I haven't been sick a single day during 2024 and now just before these two events, I caught something. So annoying, I was really looking forward to this trip!!

Marco is on his way with the Boazu 2. He suggested we'd try a video link from me to Authentic tonight and to Sound Odyssey tomorrow. Hope that will work out.

And I really wanted to hear those two speakers!!

Perhaps the most interesting models in the Graham range right now. I would be really grateful if someone could share his or her impressions of them.

They replaced my Harbeths
It was no competition really; the Graham LS8/1F are truly magnificent, totally different league compared to my Harbeths

Wish you get well soon Fredrik.

Misfortune struck here too. Yesterday the rear part of the exhaust fell off and we can't find a workshop to fix it in the short term. This is really very annoying, as we were really looking forward to the demo.

Sorry to hear that, Hermann! I remember when our rear part of the exhaust fell off on a road far up north in Lapland, Sweden, and we brought it along with us (to a roaring sound) until we found a friendly gas station where they would let us use their lift.

Currently sneezing and listening to clips from Marco who’s at the show at Authentic. Wonderful jazz clips and I’m feeling stupid lying here.

I am curious too, coverto!

Received some clips from Marco. Looked like a lot of people on Friday night at Authentic and the system was apparently received with enthusiasm. On Saturday at Sound Odyssey they used nice looking speakers from DeVore and I didn't get any clips of LS 8/1F, which I believe were connected later in the day.

I hope Marco can fill us in with some impressions!

Hi,

Attended the demo at saturday at Sound Odyssey with a friend..
Music was mostly played with a +- 20.000€ E M T turntable set up and Devore Orangutan O/96 speakers.
Arrived a bit late with a friend, Boazu 2 was already playing..it delivers a very nice stressfree very engaging musical sound
packt with punch, rythm with a very nice insight into the music..later on when switching to the Tundra 3 and super kikking
all went up a few levels higher..very noticeable!
If i ever decide to go back to a passive set up, the boazu 2 is surely on top of my wanted list..

Few sidenotes of the demo..
However the kalla was there the owner only played one song (trentenmoller) and went back to the E M T.
I found it a pity that he do not consider to do a comparison with the E M T turntable.. the demo turned from comparing devices into a masterclass records and recording techniques..b.t.w..each record was for sale, all very entertaining but still...
About the speakers, however they deliver full insight into the music and ware very enjoyable, i found they lacking a bit of dept and have the feeling the music was sticking onto the speakers.(New?)
When the afternoon passes and the end of the demo came in sight they switched to the Rega P10 turntable and we decided its was time to leave..
Linn Akudoriks- Linn MDSM/2- Majik Exaktbox I - Blue Jeans cat6a

Thanks Rudi for this very helpful and informative rundown! I am wondering if anybody else has impressions to share? I am slightly crestfallen to hear that the Supperkikkin and Tundra separates were "a few levels higher" than the Boazu 2 I am so excited about, but I suppose you ought to get something for more than double the price .... anybody else??? Frederik, do you think Rudi's impressions sound fair?
Thanks!

Re: EVENTS

Sorry it took so long to write a reaction to the event we held at the two Belgium dealers.
Personal circumstances (some illnesses) prevented me from writing.
Although not quite better I will post some of my impressions.

First off, both events were focussed on the music playback and giving the people who attented an enjoyable evening or afternoon. Fredrik very much looked forward to visiting and meeting up with both dealers and would take the opportunity to introduce himself his products and bringing the the new Boazu2 with him.

But misfortune struck and he got sick just the evening before the event forcing him to cancel his trip at the latest moment.
However he did ship Boazu2 in advance to Amsterdam so I could have a quick first listen to the prototype and take it with me to both events.

As to my first impressions of Boazu2 I can simply say - this is an 'all-you-need' amplifier.
It is recommended to switch it on an hour before listening to have it well warmed up but then you just forget about it, it's just music that's pouring out. Just before the event I had it playing 24/7 and from the moment I got up I found myself foottapping and singing along while making coffee. I had it playing with Källa and Graham LS3/5 speakers.
It was some time ago I heard Boazu 1.3 and while I thought this is as good as it gets, I must admit the new one pulls me even more into the music. Wasn't able to make a comparision with Superkikkin and TM3 at the time but hopefully we would be able to do so at the event.

So first Friday night at Authentic, Brussels - we started with Selekt LP12, Entity, Superkikkin, TM3 and the new Graham LS5/8S (slotted) monitors. The evening was hosted by vinyl connaisseur Danny Thielemans who brought several special and first pressings of old jazz records from the '50-'60-'70s with him, explaining and telling stories about the musicians and recordings.
It was such an entertaining evening with the equipment sounding so good, we didn't really want to take away the people's attention and switch equipment.
Only later on after the event, at the wee hours, we put on Boazu2 and although this was the more casual part where people were just chatting, there were some who at first didn't really notice the difference ;-)

Next day, on Saturday at Sound Odyssey we had an event with music from vinyl-collectioner, presentor and teacher of jazz history Frederik Goossens. This time we started with EMT 928 II turntable, Boazu2 and Devore O'96 speakers, and a bit of the same thing happened, they didn't really want to switch Boazu2 off. It was only that I had to leave around 15.00hrs - the event lasted until 20.00hts I learned later and had to take Boazu2 with me that made them switching to Superkikkin and TM3.

Though there are some pictures and movies taken and posted on FB and Instagram we didn't make any comparitional footage of the Lejonklou equipment to compare. At the moment I still have Boazu2 here but while recovering from my illness I haven't had the opportunity to listen much or make good recordings. Maybe there's still some time to do so when I feel up to it but it may be that Fredrik wants Boazu2 back soon.

Thanks Rudi64 for sharing your impressions - I think you were the only one from the forum that was able to attend?

As Fredrik said to me before - he was very sorry for having a pass on this event at the latest moment and would like to return at a next opportunity - both Henk Catry from Sound Odyssey and Steve Meyns from Authentic would warmly welcome him.
