Re: Recommended network components

I had been thinking about laying a 30m long LAN cable for a long time, but with the repeaters I get a very stable WiFi network. If it is also possible to set the channel in the 5GHz range, as Amplifi offers, interference from other networks is as far as possible excluded. The Amplifi HD offered an u...

Re: Recommended network components

[...] The only downside is that the range of the AmplifyHD unit is not that much better than the BT mesh units, and only the upstairs Kalla can therefore be connected . The signal drops to moderate in the main room downstairs ( and this only in the part of the room far away from Kalla). I will need...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Ok, this effect was also evident when listening via the JBL308, but not in the room. So it will be taken up again tomorrow with new batteries for the Zoom H4.

Re: Recommended network components

I had set up a pure audio network from the DSL router via LAN with three Amplifi HA. Unfortunately, it wasn't stable enough to transmit the audio stream without interruption. The AVM routers are much more stable in terms of range and wall penetration. However, they don't offer anywhere near the qual...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Thanks Whatsmynaim
The chassis are torqued and tested immediately after changing the crossovers. But it's still a good idea to investigate this again, because the Tukans with Solen capacitors continue to surprise me.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

According to my daughter, the sound of her Tukan has improved slightly. However, differences can be heard between the Dayton Audio and Solen Caps. I now prefer the Solen capacitors, which are better in the bass range and sound a little freer in the high frequency range. The Dayton Audio of the Keili...

Re: Source First theory and how far to take it?

Being exhausted is not one of my triggers either. In my opinion, it lies in the background of the current mood, the causes of which I see as a trigger, the inner mode, so to speak. As soon as inner attention is "dispersed", emotional filters may create gaps in relation to external perception, which ...

I logged in, copied a text into the field and as soon as it was supposed to be posted, I was out again. So not even logged in for a few seconds. The circumstances have not changed. With or without a VPN nothing changes.

Re: Source First theory and how far to take it?

This impression is also familiar to me, with the large system, the small one and the JBL308 on the computer, as well as others before. Although my satisfaction cannot be increased, sometimes it doesn't sound. Over time I learned to attribute this to my mood. I sorted out technical reasons, including...

Wish you get well soon Fredrik.

Misfortune struck here too. Yesterday the rear part of the exhaust fell off and we can't find a workshop to fix it in the short term. This is really very annoying, as we were really looking forward to the demo.

Jo Charlie1, perfect mistake on my part, it was Spannko, sorry. So my thanks go to him.

Thanks Beck
I now actually assume that the capacitors probably have a longer break-in period. Now the ones from the examples are back with my daughter. So it will continue to be monitored.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Thanks Fredrik. That's right, B is the recapped Tukan. The sharpness cannot be heard in the recording room. However, it is not very optimized for audio playback, as it has four bare walls and is also quite large. Perhaps the warm-up time until recording was too short. I transferred the same chassis ...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Thank you guys, B is the Tukan with the new Dayton Audio capacitors. At this point, the loudspeakers had been used for around 50 hours and should be worn in. When the Keilidh crossover was rebuilt, my wife described the second system as the little sister of the big one. It actually is and reason eno...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

For some time now I have been dedicating myself to my Keilidh and the Tukans. Unfortunately, I neglected to record music with the Keilidh's original crossovers. Actually the second pair of Tukan (from my daughter) that have received Dayton Audio capacitors. Spotify via Linn Majik DS → Boazu 1.4 → Tu...

Re: Hermanns System

Thank you for your comments. Once again an interesting result, as we clearly have a preference for the Boazu (Bx.). It's not the musicality or differences therein, but the totality of musical impressions. Without question, Naim has been a musical benchmark for me for almost fifty years, replaced som...
